I went bankrupt fighting to see my kids
Sono andato in fallimento lottando per poter vedere i miei figli
I filed bankruptcy to be in my children’s life.
Let that sink in for a second: …a father who was always involved in his children’s life, made every doctor’s appointment, every game, was always a present father.
And I had to file bankruptcy so that I could purchase the right to be in my children’s life.
Because what happens is you gotta pay a lawyer.
You gotta show up to court.
You gotta miss time from work.
You gotta drain your savings account.
Every filing comes with money.
And before you know it, you’re hundreds of thousands of dollars into this…
So yeah, I had to file bankruptcy so that I could be in my children’s life.
Make that make sense.
I want to know why that is.
And I want to know what the solution to this is.
Because there’s men all over this world, all over this world, that are selling their vehicles.
They’re selling their houses.
They’re getting their houses foreclosed on just so they can be in their children’s life.
Make that make sense?!
I don’t understand it.
Why do you have to purchase the right to be a father in family court?
Why is that a thing?

Pensateci un attimo: …un padre che è sempre stato presente nella vita dei suoi figli, che li ha accompagnati a ogni visita medica, a ogni partita, che è sempre stato un padre presente.
E ho dovuto dichiarare fallimento per poter acquistare il diritto di essere presente nella vita dei miei figli.
Perché quello che succede è che devi pagare un avvocato.
Devi presentarti in tribunale.
Devi prenderti dei giorni di lavoro.
Devi svuotare i tuoi risparmi.
Ogni procedura fallimentare comporta delle spese.
E prima che tu te ne accorga, ti ritrovi con centinaia di migliaia di dollari in ballo…
Quindi sì, ho dovuto dichiarare fallimento per poter essere presente nella vita dei miei figli.
Fatemi capire.
Voglio sapere perché?!
E voglio sapere qual è la soluzione.
Perché ci sono uomini in tutto il mondo, in tutto il mondo, che stanno vendendo le loro auto.
Stanno vendendo le loro case.
Si fanno pignorare le case solo per poter stare nella vita dei loro figli.
Ha senso?!
Non lo capisco.
Perché bisogna “comprare” il diritto di essere padre in tribunale?
Perché esiste una cosa del genere?
